– Name and location of the city: indicating the country and continent.
– Population data: the total population of the city and, if relevant, the population of the urban agglomeration, and their distribution.
– Historical overview: a brief summary of the history of the city, its foundation, its main periods and its historical role.
– Geographical characteristics: geographical location, climate, natural features (e.g. rivers, coastline, relief), urban structure.
– Economic situation: the main economic sectors of the city, especially the role of tourism; the economic impact of the number of visitors, as well as industrial and service characteristics.
